The Smithsonian Wants My Model!
This is really cool. I wrote to the Smithsonian Institution's Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. a couple of weeks ago because I thought my Horten would make a great addition to the full-scale example at the Udvar-Hazy center. It had been stored for many years in under less than ideal conditions before the museum acquired it. The museum recently restored the aircraft as best they could and is currently on display in three parts. I thought my model would serve the public by showing them how the original aircraft was constructed and what it actually looked like when it was captured by the allies at the end of WWII.
Anyway, the folks at the museum wrote back and they want my model. I will be sending it to them sometime after August of this year.
